| Training Name | Investigating Child Abuse and Neglect among Children with Special Needs |
| Training Description | This presentation will focus on recognizing, investigating, and documenting abuse and neglect among children with special needs. The training will describe the system of care for children with special needs and their families and how the role of each professional can aid an investigation. Medical indicators of abuse among the special needs population will be addressed as well as differentiating between accidental and non-accidental injury. Emphasis will be placed on the importance of a multi-disciplinary approach and resources that are available. |
