RN-BSN, Bachelor of Science in Nursing

Registered nurses can earn their Bachelor of Science in Nursing in as little as one year.

The Palmetto College Online Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing is issued by the Mary Black School of Nursing at USC Upstate.

Overview

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing program is offered to registered nurses who are graduates of an ACEN (formerly NLN) accredited associate degree or diploma program in nursing. This program offers the RN student the opportunity to acquire knowledge needed for professional nursing practice in a wide variety of settings and provides the educational foundation that is the basis for graduate study in nursing. Registered nurses who meet the admission requirements for the RN-BSN program may complete the program in one calendar year of study. Students selecting part-time study may take two years to complete the program.

Course work focuses on the development of professional role models, competent providers, effective communicators, and critical thinkers who respond to the rapid changes and demands in the healthcare industry. Classes include role transition, health assessment, nursing research, nursing leadership, and community health nursing. All RN-BSN students will complete virtual community clinical experiences, windshield surveys and service to vulnerable populations in their own communities.
