2020 Parent Orientation Sessions
If your son or daughter will attend an Orientation session, we encourage you to attend the corresponding Parent Orientation. We offer 7 Parent Orientation Session. There are 6 day orientations (8:30 AM-11:OO AM) that correspond with Student Orientation on June 9th, June 24th, July 7th, July 15th, July 22nd, and August 12th. For your convenience we also offer an evening (5:30 PM-7:00 PM) Parent Orientation session on July 22nd. If you are planning to attend Parent Orientation, you are expected to attend on the same date as your child. The July 22nd evening session is open to ALL parents no matter what session your child has attended/is planning to attend. To register for the July 22nd session, please call 803-313-7066.
Parent Orientation check in starts at 8:30 AM in the Bradley Arts and Sciences Building; the same location as your child. At 9:00 AM, campus administrators will present information on various topics, including registration, tuition/fee payment, security, and financial aid. These administrators will also be available to answer questions you have regarding your student's college experience. Parents will also be offered a campus tour by our Student Government Association. After lunch, parents can take a guided bus tour of Lancaster including stops at the USCL Native American Studies Center, baseball field, soccer field, and more. All offices on campus will be open if you have specific questions you need answered that are not covered during the presentations. A Parent Lounge will be setup in the Bradley Building for any parents who choose to wait for their students. For those parents who plan to wait, your student should be finished no later than 5:00 PM. Parents will not be allowed to attend lunch or advising/registration with their student. On July 22nd we will be offering an evening Parent Orientation session from 5:30-7:00 PM. The Student Orientation fee covers the cost of Parent Orientation, so there is no additional fee to attend Parent Orientation. Please Note that parents will not be allowed to attend lunch or the academic advisement/registration portion of orientation with their student. We will have a list available of recommended restaurants in the area.

Although Parent Orientation is not required, we hope you will consider attending. Parent orientation is designed for parents and guardians. We ask that you please leave any siblings or other children with another caregiver. When students registration online for Orientation, they are asked to list how many people will be attending Parent Orientation.
