IMAP and POP3 Servers to be Blocked on Oct. 18

In order to improve information security throughout the Columbia campus, IMAP and POP3 servers will be disabled beginning October 18, 2018. IMAP and POP3 are older methods used by computers to access email messages from a remote server.

Don't Provide Personal Info Through Email Links!

The university has seen a spike in phishing emails. Phishing is an email fraud method used by hackers and thieves to lure unsuspecting recipients into providing personal information.

Blackboard Unavailable Sunday, July 22, 2018

A critical update will be made to Blackboard. Students, faculty, and staff will be unable to login to the system during the maintenance.

Improved SPAM Filter for Students

Students no longer need to check their Clutter folder to see messages that were blocked by SPAM filters. A list of blocked messages will be sent to students each morning for review.

Campus Wireless Emergency Change at 4:30 on January 10

New Guest Wireless Network Coming Dec. 20

The way guests to the Columbia campus connect to the wireless network will change on Tuesday, December 20.

Several University Systems Will Be Unavailable During Upgrade on Nov. 6

An important update will be made to the Shibboleth database on Sunday, November 6 from 6 AM to 2 PM. Several university systems that require university authentication to login will be unavailable during the update including, PeopleSoft, ServiceNow, and more. Please make note of this temporary outage and make plans accordingly.

New Self-Service Website Launched October 17

University Technology Services (UTS) launched a new self-service website on October 17, 2016 to allow customers to easily request technology assistance online.
