Bio

Sadia’s earliest memory of growing food was spending time with their grandmother on a plot of land she rented. Discovering how far a sunflower reached awakened a deep curiosity of plants for them. They are a graduate of North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University (AGGIE PRIDE!!). While there, Sadia was a research assistant in mycology, entomology, and horticultural laboratories. Outside of school they volunteered at Dudley High-School’s garden, and even sold vegan baked goods at a local farmers market. After graduating they spent a year growing on an organic non-profit farm in Western North Carolina. Sadia is passionate about healing through land and community-based food security. Outside of work you can find them fermenting vegetables, reading a book, or roller-skating.
