Eligibility Requirements

UofSC students with a minimum 2.5 GPA are eligible to participate in this program. All majors are welcome.

Courses & Credits

Students have the choice of 3-6 credit of UofSC course offerings. Anticipated offerings include:

ENGL 200/399: This course is an exploration of London through the art of travel writing, focusing on the experience of new places, the exploration of different layers of culture, history and people and the contemplation of the meaning of travel itself. We will immerse ourselves in the riches that the city of London has to offer, crafting personal responses to the ethics and social responsibilities of the writer in unfamiliar circumstances. We will read the work of London-based authors in order to develop an aesthetic appreciation of writing shaped by the city. The goals of the course will be to come away with a richer sense of the city we’ve inhabited, to discover our voices as travel writers, and to develop a collection of vivid mementos of our experience abroad.

THEA 340/SPCH 340: Introduction to the study of literature through performance; reading, analysis, and performance of prose, poetry, nonfiction, and drama. Literature and performance using the sonnets and famous speeches of William Shakespeare to improve presentation and vocal skills.
