The Opportunity
The search for the position of Dean of the College of Social Work will begin November 2022. The College of Social Work (CoSW) is a national and international
leader in social work education and a premier setting to advance social well-being
and social justice among vulnerable populations through dynamic teaching, research,
and service conducted in collaboration with diverse peoples of South Carolina, the
nation, and the international community. Its academic offerings include Bachelor
of Social Work (BSW), Master of Social Work (MSW), Doctor of Social Work (PhD) and
Graduate Certificate Programs, with current enrollment of 800 students. Additionally,
the CoSW conducts numerous action research projects and is home to Centers and Institutes
such as: The Center for Child and Family Studies, The Institute for Families in Society,
Community Empowerment Center, The I. DeQuincey Newman Institute, SeniorSmart, and
the South Carolina Center for Gerontology.
