Since 1988, the National Resource Center has conducted and encouraged national research on student learning, development, and success, including high-impact practices like the first-year seminar, sophomore initiatives, peer leadership, information literacy, and senior capstone experiences.

College and Career Readiness in South Carolina

Since 2014, the National Resource Center has partnered with the Center of Excellence for College and Career Readiness to conduct research on the state of college and career readiness in South Carolina. Current projects associated with this partnership include examining math readiness for college and career in South Carolina.

Lunchable Research

Lunchable Research is a combination of several small projects, including research briefs and infographics, all created with the intent of making research more accessible and impactful for policy and practice.

Advising Success Network

The Advising Success Network, supported by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, is a partnership among higher education organizations and leaders who believe advising is the bright star in a constellation of student support services. Current ASN-related projects include understanding Advising as a Promising and High-Impact Practice and the development of a Campus Guidebook for Using Evidence Strategically and Advising Case Studies.

National Survey on Sophomore-Year Initiatives (NSSYI)

The NSSYI is designed to capture a view of sophomore-year initiatives at American higher education institutions. The NSSYI was last conducted in 2019.

National Survey on Transfer Student Experiences (NSTSE)

The NSTSE will gather information about initiatives and services for transfer and transfer-intending students at American higher education institutions.
