Emily serves as the Transfer Expert-in-Residence at the National Resource Center, where she leads the integration of the National Institute for the Study of Transfer Students (NISTS) programs and resources into NRC operations and supports the Center’s long-term strategy for transfer-focused work.

Prior to joining the NRC, Emily spent eight years with NISTS as Assistant Director. In that capacity, she oversaw professional development initiatives, including the nation’s only annual conference dedicated solely to cross-functional transfer student success. Drawing from her background in student development and instructional design, she coordinated practitioner-focused learning experiences and resources that bridged research and practice. Emily is a regular presenter at national and state-level events, and she co-authored Supporting Transfer Student Success: Five Key Faculty Strategies and How to Create and Sustain a Transfer Student-Centered Web Presence. She has also contributed nationally through service on the Learning Evaluation and Recognition for the Next Generation (LEARN) Commission and by co-leading the revision of the CAS Standards for Transfer Student Programs and Services.

Before her time at NISTS, Emily held roles in testing, registration, and student orientation at a primarily transfer-sending, two-year institution. She earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Central Arkansas and a master’s degree in Family Studies from the University of Kentucky.
