Identification
After HR-OIS Onboarding:
Social Security Number (SSN)
After ISSS validates your SEVIS record, you must apply for a U.S. Social Security Number, which functions as an ID# for tax and other financial purposes.
- Here is the application process (both online and in person steps required).
- Request an Employment Verification letter.
- Once you receive your SSN card in the mail, provide it to your department's HR person.
- If you already have a SSN card but no longer have the document, you must request a replacement card.
SC Driver's License or State ID
After you receive a SSN, you will be eligible to apply for an ID.
USC Carolina Card
After HR approves the affiliate e-Form/employee onboarding, you will be able to:
- Claim your USC email/network ID; and
- A few days later, apply for a Carolina Card.
- Access your email and other resources.
