Ashlan supports the international student community by acting as a liaison between campus and community partners who want to provide support to international students. She leads Carolina Intercultural trainings, is over the Thinking Globally program, oversees the ISSS social media accounts, and plans orientation for all new international students. Ashlan is over programming and all events that the ISSS office offers for our international students.

Ashlan has taught English overseas in Thailand and South Korea, which gave her a broadened understanding of different cultures and an appreciation for working with international students. While living overseas she was able to travel to Vietnam, Bali, Hong Kong, Cambodia, Australia, Spain, the UK, Ireland, France, Italy, Czech Republic, Germany, and Portugal. She interned at Presbyterian College’s Office of International Programs her senior year of college, which helped her to realize she wanted to work in the International Student & Scholar Support office at USC. Besides traveling, Ashlan loves reading, anything that involves being outside, and finding fun new restaurants to eat at in Columbia.
