Health Professions Student Loans

The Health Professions Student Loan Program, a loan exclusively for pharmacy majors, is a federal loan program funded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Students who are enrolled full time in the professional pharmacy program on the Columbia campus of the South Carolina College of Pharmacy may be eligible. The Health Professions Student Loans are need-based loans with an interest rate fixed at 5 percent. Repayment begins 12 months after a student ceases to enroll at least half time. To be considered, parental data must be provided on the FAFSA.

Loan amounts vary but cannot exceed the cost of attendance minus other aid.
