|Boren Graduate Fellowship||
Provides U.S. graduate students the opportunity to add an important international and language component to their graduate education through specialization in area study, language study, or increased language proficiency.
Award Value: Up to $24,000 for overseas study. Some funding available for domestic language study to supplement overseas component, for a maximum overseas and domestic program value of $30,000.

Supports undergraduate students seeking to study a less-commonly taught language abroad in a non-English speaking country (outside of Western Europe).
Award Value: Up to $10,000 for a semester and up to $20,000 for a full academic year. Special summer program for STEM students: up to $8,000 for a minimum 8-week program.
Offers scholarships to American undergraduate students participating in study-abroad programs in Japan for a semester or an academic year. CURRENTLY SUSPENDED FOR 2020 DUE TO COVID.
Award Value: Ranges from $2,500- 4,000.
|Carnegie Endowment for International Peace Gaither Junior Fellows||
Gaither Junior Fellows serve as research assistants to Senior Fellows at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace in Washington, DC, for one year.
Award Value: $42,000 for the year, plus a benefits package.
|Critical Language Scholarship Program||
The CLS provides an intensive language study program for US students, funded by the US Department of State. Participants study one of 15 critical languages for approximately 12 weeks over the summer.
Award Value: Funds approximately 12 week language immersion program, including travel, room, and board.
Summer research internship in the STEM fields with doctoral students at top German universities. No German required for most placements.
Award Value: €650 a month for an 8-12 week internship, health insurance, €160 for travel within Germany. Assistance in finding affordable housing for the duration of the internship.
|DAAD RISE Professional||
Summer research internship in the STEM fields with doctoral students at top German universities; for graduate students or those who have already completed a DAAD RISE internship.
Award Value: €650-1000 monthly stipend (depending on degree-level of applicant), €800 for travel expenses, €150 travel for scholarship meeting, insurance. Also up to max €500 for 80% of course fees to attend a language course in Germany.

|Department of Defense National Defense Science and Engineering Grad Fellowships||
Highly competitive, portable fellowship that is awarded to U.S. citizens and nationals who intend to pursue a doctoral degree in one of fifteen supported STEM disciplines.
Award Value: Three years of support, including full tuition and all mandatory fees, a monthly stipend (minimum $30,500), and up to $1000 in medical insurance.
|Department of Energy Computational Science Graduate Fellowship||
Provides outstanding benefits and opportunities to students pursuing doctoral degrees in fields of study that use high performance computing to solve complex science and engineering problems.
Award Value: $38,000 stipend, full tuition and fees, $1,000 annual travel allowance; renewable for up to 4 years. Also, recipients participate in a 12 week DoE practicum and yearly conferences.
|Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters Degrees||
Sponsored by the European Union, Erasmus Mundus offers students scholarships to complete one of the many offered Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters and Erasmus Mundus Joint Doctorates.
Award Value: Tuition fees and participation costs (including insurance), travel cost contribution, installation cost contribution, and monthly allowance.
|Ford Foundation Predoctoral Fellowship||
These fellowships provide three years of support for individuals engaged in graduate study leading to a PhD or ScD.
Award Value: Annual stipend of $24,000 and expenses paid to at least one Conference of Ford Fellows.
Provides scholarships for U.S. undergraduate students with demonstrated financial need to study abroad in East or Southeast Asia.
Award Value: Summer awards up to $3000, semester awards up to $5000, and academic year awards up to $7000.
|Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship||
Provides funding for current recipients of Pell Grants to study abroad.
Award Value: $5,000 for undergraduate study up to one year. Potential for additional $3,000 if also studying a critical language.
|NOAA Hollings Scholarship||
Supports eligible undergraduates studying oceanic, environmental, biological, and atmospheric sciences, mathematics, engineering, remote sensing technology, physical and social sciences including geography, physics, hydrology, geomatics, or teacher education that support NOAA's programs and mission.
Award Value: Up to $19,000 for academic expenses (stipend of $9500 each year), as well as a 10-week full-time paid summer internship with a NOAA facility (valued at $7000).
|Humanity In Action Fellowship||
Five week summer program taking place in Europe. Programs focus specifically on the relationship between majority and minority populations in Denmark, France, Germany, the Netherlands and Poland.
Award Value: Humanity in Action covers the costs of participation and accommodation during the fellowship. Air fare is not covered unless documented need is provided.

These fellowships support graduate study of American history by aspiring and experienced secondary school teachers of American history, American government, and social studies.
Award Value: Maximum of $12,000 per year of study, for a maximum award of $24,000, to cover tuition, required fees, and books for the completion of a Master's degree. May also be used for room and board as necessary.
|National Health Service Corps||
Awards scholarships to students pursuing primary health care professions in NHSC-eligible disciplines in return for a commitment to provide health care to communities in need, upon graduation and the completion of training.
Award Value: Up to four years of support for professional school: tuition, required fees, and other reasonable education costs, all tax-free, and a monthly living stipend that is taxable.

These programs offer students the chance to complete research in a range of STEM fields at campuses across the US over the summer.
Award Value: Varies, but typically includes travel, room and board, as well as stipend.
|Rotary Global Grant||
Scholarships to support one year of graduate level study abroad, with sustainable, high-impact outcomes in one of Rotary's six areas of focus: peace and conflict prevention/resolution, disease prevention and treatment, water and sanitation, maternal and child health, basic education and literacy, economic and community development.
Award Value: Minimum of $30,000 for graduate-level study during one academic year abroad. Funds may be used for round-trip transportation, tuition and fees, room, board, language training (if necessary) and living expenses.
|SMART (Science, Math, and Research for Transformation) Scholarship||
Sponsored by the Department of Defense (DOD), the SMART Scholarship provides an opportunity for students pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM disciplines) to receive a full scholarship and increase the number of civilian scientists and engineers working at DOD laboratories.
Award Value: Full tuition and education related fees, stipend of $25,000-38,000 depending on degree pursued, paid summer internships, health insurance and book allowance, mentoring, and employment placement with the DoD after graduation.
|Taiwan USA Alliance Ambassador Summer Scholarship Program||
Summer program for American students to intensively study Chinese (Mandarin) and immerse themselves in Taiwanese culture for two months. DUE TO COVID, PROGRAM WILL BE VIRTUAL IN SUMMER 2021.
Award Value: Tuition, room and board, homestay, excursions, and language partner. Travel costs to Taiwan and meals not included.

Awards given to undergraduate students in two categories: those with a demonstrated commitment to careers related to the environment; and Native American and Alaska Native students with a demonstrated commitment to careers related either to tribal public policy or to Native health care.
Award Value: Up to $7000 for tuition, room, board or other educational expenses, and attendance at 4-day annual Udall Scholar Orientation in Tuscon AZ.
