UofSC’s exchange program with Fulbright University Vietnam offers students the opportunity to study at Vietnam’s first liberal arts university, a pioneering institution that blends American-style education with a focus on innovation and ethical leadership. Students on exchange pay in-state tuition directly to USC and do not pay tuition to Fulbright. All housing, food, and personal expenses are paid by the student in Ho Chi Minh City. Students' living expenses can vary depending on the individual student’s lifestyle and accomodations. To get an idea of life on site, you will find on the numbeo website indications on the cost of living in Vietnam compared to other countries in the world.
A list of tentative undergraduate courses can be found online, but be aware that the course list is subject to change between semesters. A list with exact courses offered will be released before the starting date of the semester.

In addition to taking theoretical modules, students will improve their knowledge with learning opportunities from practical experience. Diverse activities - from participating in student organizations, internships, to field trips and community projects - will help students participate and learn more about the fields of interest. With the mission of promoting the comprehensive development of students to become active citizens, the Student Engagement Department facilitates and encourages students' participation in the school's programs and events.
Per university policy, all UofSC students will be charged emergency medical, evacuation and repatriation insurance for their time abroad. Contact the Education Abroad Office for more details.
Boarding life is an important component of the student experience at Fulbright University Vietnam. With this goal, the Boarding Life team will provide a safe, supportive, diverse and attractive living space for all students. Besides, the boarding model also supports students to develop a lifelong learning process by including social skills and knowledge into the development program.
The spring semester starts at the beginning of January and ends in mid-May. Exact dates of the program will be provided each year by FTU.
Students who attend FTU for a semester must apply for a Vietnamese student visa (Category DH). Upon approval by Fulbright, they will send a letter of invitation to accepted students, which will be used to apply for the DH visa. Visa applications can be sent in via mail, and students should not need to appear to the Embassy in person.
