End User

End users are on the front lines of information security.  According to Policy IT 3.00 [pdf], they're also accountable for ensuring the safety of the data and IT assets they use.  We know cybersecurity cannot be achieved unless end users have the knowledge, tools, and resources needed to be secure.

Anti-malware

  • The university recommends and provides Symantec Endpoint Protection.  Contact your local IT representative if the agent is not available to you via software distribution.

Patching

  • If your university device is managed by SA with DoIT, this is handled with BigFix.  Make sure to apply updates for your operating system and applications within 30 days of release.
