When: Wednesday, January 29, 2014, 11 a.m.-12 p.m.
Where: 1244 Blossom Street, Room 320

On Wednesday, January 29, the campus Research Cyberinfrastructure (RCI) group will welcome Computational Scientist Bhanu Rekepalli, with the National Institute for Computational Sciences at Oak Ridge National Laboratory and University of Tennessee to discuss, "Impact of Next-Generation High Performance Computing (HPC) Architectures on Life Sciences Research." The talk be held from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. at 1244 Blossom Street, room 320, and is co-sponsored by the Office of Research and the Office of Information Technology. Rekepalli will discuss massively parallel bioinformatics applications that will help to bridge the gap between the rate of data generation in life sciences and the speed and ease at which biologists and pharmacists can study this data.
