For three consecutive years USC Columbia has been the recipient of INSIGHT Into Diversity's Higher Education Excellence in Diversity Award.

Rankings

According to Diverse Issues in Higher Education's Top 100 Degree Producers in 2014, USC Columbia ranks: 

  • 16th in the number of degrees awarded to African Americans in Mathematics and Statistics; and,
  • 74th in the number of degrees awarded to African Americans in all disciplines combined. This translates to the top 3% of 4-year institutions in the country in the number if degrees awarded to African American students.
