Breaking New Ground in Online Education

Karen Edwards, Faculty Associate Director for Distributed Learning Pedagogy, and Dr. Ryan Rucker, Instructional Designer, presented a session entitled "Helping Distributed Learning Faculty Implement Quality Assurance Standards" at the Distance Learning Administration 2015 Conference held June 29, 2015, in Jekyll Island, Georgia.

Their presentation shared USC's experience in implement a standardized quality assurance metric across undergraduate distributed learning (DL) courses. Faculty interviews regarding satisfaction with the rubric, associated training, support, tools and results were discussed.

"We were glad to have the opportunity to share what we've learned, said Edwards. "USC is breaking new ground in many areas, and it was exciting to tell people about that."
