In this adventure, you will explore the theories of "deep listening" and "sonic awareness" as presented by Pauline Oliveros and explore the music of living composer Steve Reich. In small groups, you will compose and perform art song settings of the poetry of Shel Silverstein using handheld instruments and iPads. You will learn rhythm basics, explore graphic scores, compose, perform, and interpret your scores as well as the scores of your classmates using handheld instruments and Boomwhackers. Spend the day on a musical journey!
