Money, Stocks, and Fun, oh my: Understanding Today’s Stock Market

Have you ever wondered how the stock market and investing works? What is the NYSE or NASDAQ? What is a bear or a bull market? How do investors determine prices? How do you know when a company is a good investment? What causes a stock price to go up and down? How do you read the stock tables in the newspaper or online? Students will learn the answers to these and many more questions, and in teams have an opportunity to put their knowledge to use in an abbreviated stock market simulation game using companies familiar to the students. Teams will get an opportunity to defend their investment decisions and see how well their investments did during the class.
