Deborah Harrison Sheffield

Deborah Harrison Sheffield is a cum laude graduate of the University of South Carolina (1981 – B.A. Political Science), and also a graduate of the USC School of Law (1984). Deborah began her legal career as a law clerk for several judges on the state and federal bench which provided her with invaluable opportunities to observe both trial and appellate practice. Since entering private practice in 1989, Deborah has focused on using her skills in legal research and writing as an appellate advocate and providing litigation support for trial lawyers. She has participated in over 100 appeals in the South Carolina Appellate Courts and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and she has had the great honor of assisting with one case that went all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court. She has presented programs to elementary students on the court system.

Deborah has taught also courses through our Duke TIP Academic Adventures program held during school year at USC.
