SAT Prep Live Online Course

Prepare for the SAT® with UofSC's comprehensive online course led by a live instructor. Enjoy all the interactivity of traditional classroom learning with one big plus—the comfort and convenience of being able to learn from anywhere.

The instructor explained the material in a way that I could understand it much better. He was very helpful!

The Online Experience

It isn't unusual to have questions about online learning. We've answered some of the most common here for you. If you have additional questions or need more information, you can ask an expert.

The live online course is very similar to the classroom format. We use the same curriculum and materials, and the same proven strategies to help you succeed on the exam. You're able to interact with your instructor in a live setting and participate in the class through the use of online technology.

The live online class uses software called Adobe Connect. This software allows you to view and hear the instructor, share documents, and interact with the instructor and other students. While the instructor uses a microphone, students do not need a microphone or camera to participate. Students can simply type questions and answers into a chat box. Some modules also feature quizzes.

Most online classes are asynchronous, meaning they're pre-recorded or prepared in advance. Students work through the classes at their own pace or are provided with a new module to review on their own each week. Live online classes are led by a live instructor who is there to teach the class and answer questions in real-time; just like in a traditional classroom setting.

All you need to participate in the live online class is access to high speed internet on a computer with speakers (or headphones).  Our virtual classroom application is Adobe Connect. Please use this link to run this diagnostic test on the computer you plan to use for the course.

The live online class supports interaction with instructors and other students in many ways. You'll be able to ask questions and make comments using the chat feature. In addition, the course will utilize quiz features that allow you to answer questions. You will also have access to your instructor by phone and email, just as you would in a traditional classroom setting.

The live sessions will be recorded and available for streaming. The streaming video will be available shortly after the scheduled meeting date and will be accessible for 120 days after the session.

No. The class includes the same textbook and workbook as the traditional classroom course. A copy of the textbook and workbook will be mailed to you about one week before the class begins.

Course materials will be shipped to the address provided when you register. We recommend registering at least five business days in advance of the course start date to ensure timely delivery of your course materials package. Registering within five business days of the course start or after the course start? Not a problem. Students will be emailed digital workbook handouts for the class sessions to facilitate participation until their course materials are delivered.
