Spring Clinics

Whitewater Kayak Roll Clinics

Wednesdays:  6 – 8 p.m.
Join us in the Strom Thurmond indoor pool every Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. to learn basic whitewater kayaking skills. No gear or previous experience required. Price is free. For more information, please feel free to contact Austin Deitz at

Climbing Wall Belay Clinics

Wednesdays: 6 – 8 p.m.
Participants will learn the basics of top-rope belaying at our climbing wall. Topics include use and fitting of gear, basic safety measures, and proper belay technique. This clinic is hands on and includes lots of practice. For more information, please feel free to contact Nicholas Palm at

Sport Climbing Series

This three-part series teaches the basics of sport climbing at our climbing wall. Topics in the first two sessions include risk management in lead climbing, lead belay technique, and lead climbing technique. These sessions are hands on and involve lots of practice. The third session consists of a lead "check-off" in which participants put to practice the skills they've learned over the last two weeks. Bike Maintenance Clinics

First Wednesday of each month: 6 – 8 p.m.
The bike maintenance clinic is where students and faculty of the University of South Carolina can learn basic bike maintenance by trained bike mechanics. You can learn how to fix a flat tire, how to adjust your handlebar angle and seat height, as well as how to properly take care of a bike chain. We encourage anybody who commutes to campus on a bike to stop by and learn how to take proper care of their bike! For more information, please feel free to contact Alex Mckenna at
