This session will focus on the Relational competency area of advising and the interpersonal skills that are beneficial to successful advisement. Basic counseling skills will be introduced and demonstrated within advising scenarios.

Part One: What is a Transfer Student?

After attending this session, participants will be able to:

  1. Define types of transfer students both nationally and at UofSC.
  2. Recognize the transfer student profile of their caseload (major).

In this webinar, faculty will learn about the relationship between curriculum governance, curriculum management, and curriculum implementation. Through knowledge of this relationship and the goals associated with each component, faculty can create and modify curriculum with an understanding of how the curricular information they provide will be used to display and communicate degree requirements.   1. Provide feedback regarding common issues when advising transfer students.
  2. Develop an action plan for transfer advising.

  2. Utilize best practices related to active transfer caseloads.
