5th Annual USC System Advisors Conference
Date: Friday, February 16, 2018
Time: Registration begins at 8:30am. The conference will end at 3:30pm.

Details: A "HACK" is defined as a strategy or technique adopted in order to manage one's time and daily activies in a more efficient way. The modern Academic Advisor must know a wealth of information about their students, policies and procedures, the curriculum, and the University at large. The 2018 conference will feature “Advising Hacks: Best Practices” aimed at providing academic advisors with the most essential information related to their position. Attendees can choose two of five tracks:
- Advising Appointment & Strategies
- Advising Special Student Populations
- Advising Technologies & Resources
- Policies & Procedures
- Student Engagement & Campus Resources
Each session will include an “Advising Hack” containing 5 slides in 5 minutes. The conference will feature 40 advising hacks total. Conference participants will leave with an advising hack cheat-sheet enabling a quick reference.

4th Annual USC-System Advisors Conference: Transfer Transitions
Transfer Transitions was the theme for hte 2017 conference held on February 10,2017. The conference focused on providing academic advisors with the knowledge and resources to assist transfer students toward a timely degree completion and included a keynote address by the Dean of Undergraduate Studies, Dr. Sandra Kelly.
3rd Annual USC-System Advisors Conference: Next Generation Advising
Next Generation Advising was the theme for the 2016 conference held on February 19, 2016. The program focused on the students, technology and advising practice required to advise our ever-changing student population.
The program also included comments from our new provost, Dr. Joan Gabel, a keynote address, lunch and breakout sessions to maximize participation by advisors from all campuses.

The Complete Advisor: Putting the Pieces together was the theme for the 2015 conference held on February 13, 2015.
Inaugural USC-System Advisors Conference: Appreciative Advising
Appreciative Advising was the theme for the 2014 conference held on February 28, 2014 and included a keynote address: by Dr. Jenny Bloom on The Appreciative Advising Revolution.
