Background

Lauren manages the Graduation with Leadership Distinction (GLD) program, including advisement, programming, outreach, and events. She oversees assessment for GLD, which includes ePortfolio rubric training and support for UNIV 401 instructor, Faculty Fellows, and staff reviewers. Lauren supervises three full-time GLD advisors in CIEL and supports the Palmetto College campuses (Lancaster, Salkehatchie, Sumter, and Union) in implementing GLD.

Prior to joining the CIEL team in 2019, Lauren worked in the Student Success Center as Coordinator of Peer Tutoring, where she supervised 65 Peer Tutors and oversaw the Peer Leader recruitment process for 200+ Peer Leaders each year. Lauren also served as a Graduate Assistant in the Student Success Center while completing her Master’s in Higher Education and Student Affairs. Lauren was introduced to the field of student affairs through participation in several leadership roles as an undergraduate student at Winthrop University: Peer Tutor (Academic Success Center), Sorority President (Fraternity & Sorority Life), and Counseling Intern (Counseling Services). Lauren enjoys helping student leaders make meaning of their experiences and apply their learning to future goals.

Lauren is from Blythewood, South Carolina and enjoys spending time with family, including husband, Will, daughter, Emily, and goldendoodle, Sierra. In her free time, Lauren loves to read, run, and re-watch Grey’s Anatomy.
