Background
Julia advises students pursuing Graduation with Leadership Distinction and guides students in developing ePortfolios. She is responsible for CIEL’s outreach on campus as well as on social media and the bi-weekly newsletter. Julia also supervises an undergraduate student marketing intern.
Julia is a Gamecock legacy, with both her parents earning their undergraduate and graduate degrees at the University of South Carolina. Prior to working in CIEL, Julia worked in student affairs while earning her M.Ed., and has experience across various functional areas at both the University of South Carolina and Oregon State University, including student conduct and academic integrity, student advocacy, student health services, student leadership development, and the first year experience. In her undergraduate career, Julia earned leadership distinction in professional and civic engagement through CIEL, creating a passion for integrative and experiential learning that she is excited to share with the students she works with.
Julia is originally from Mount Pleasant, South Carolina and spends her free time traveling, hiking, and creating art in various mediums. She considers herself a food lover, a collector of knick knacks, and an avid Gamecock Women’s Basketball and Football fan. Her perfect day would involve enjoying a chai latte, petting a dog, going on a hike, eating dinner at a local restaurant, and watching a movie with her friends.
