The Go Abroad Innovation Award in Alumni Engagement acknowledges universities who are pioneers in offering productive re-entry programming for students who have participated in study abroad experiences.  The award was given to the Study Abroad Office in partnership with USC Connect for Graduation with Leadership Distinction (GLD) in Global Learning.

 

As stated in the award application:

Graduation with Leadership Distinction allows returnees to explore the significance of their study abroad experience and integrate it with their on-campus learning. The E-portfolio prompts study abroad alumni to reflect on their overseas experience in a meaningful way that helps prepare them for articulating study abroad to future employers. The GLD requirements also increase the visibility of study abroad on-campus.

 

Global learning is featured on USC Connect and Study Abroad Office websites and promoted through numerous venues including student orientations, the International House at Maxcy College's Global Scholarship program, the Study Abroad Fair, and Pre-Departure Orientations. USC Connect and Study Abroad work with faculty to increase awareness of GLD and develop integrative learning strategies in faculty-led Study Abroad programs.
