Experience by Design builds upon the existing framework of USC Connect, our first QEP established as part of SACSCOC accreditation, and its emphasis on integrative learning. The goal of Experience by Design is to support all students to be engaged in meaningful beyond the classroom experiences and reflection during their time at the University of South Carolina. With this overarching goal in mind, we will focus energies on supporting the student populations that are less engaged and that have lower retention and graduation rates as compared to other student populations based upon our institutional data. These student populations include Pell-eligible students, Transfer students, Underrepresented Minority students and Male Students. Graduate students are also included in Experience by Design as a key student target population desiring increased beyond the classroom engagement and reflection opportunities. We are excited to extend our first QEP on integrative learning (including Graduation with Leadership Distinction and the ePortfolio emphasis) into one that is more inclusive and impactful and that aligns with the new university strategic plan established in 2020.
