In the past year, Colin Wilder (Co-Director of the Center) has partnered with Silvia E. Piovan (University of Padua, Department of Historical and Geographic Sciences and the Ancient World) to develop a plan for future exchange of students and faculty. The theme of the project is “Mobility”, referring to mobility of people, ideas, and artifacts across borders, both in contemporary culture and historically.
The project, named as an “Excellence” (Eccellenza) Project, has been funded by the Italian Ministry of Education, Universities and Research (MUIR).
We plan to develop a regular exchange of American and Italian students and faculty between the two universities, as part of USC’s Global Carolina program. In addition, the Center of Digital Humanities will be providing guidance on the consideration of digital humanities concepts and implementations as well as providing additional expertise with implementation of shared project resources.
