Welcome to the Gamecock family! You are entering the University of South Carolina at a very exciting time. Our campus is expanding with the opening of several new facilities in Innovista, an innovation district highlighting research initiatives and a vibrant urban lifestyle. Our athletics programs are in the middle of a massive facilities upgrade, including a new baseball stadium, an academic enrichment center, and an athletics Horseshoe. Possibly best of all, you are part of the most competitive group of freshmen South Carolina has ever seen. It truly is a great time to be a Gamecock!

Surely you are excited about your upcoming transition. I remember preparing for my first year of college. While my excitement was through the roof, I was also nervous about starting this new chapter in my life. This may be the case for you. Well, the University of South Carolina Visitor Center, the Carolina community, and the city of Columbia are here to help.

This website was designed with you in mind. Use it as your guide to our beautiful campus, the city of Columbia, and the move-in process. Move-in day is Saturday, August 16th. Convocation, an important event for both you and your family, will be held the following day at 4:00 at the Carolina Coliseum. After that, take part in as many Welcome Week activities as you can, including the First Year Reading Experience on Monday, August 18th. We have nearly 350 student organizations, so the student life possibilities are endless. Welcome Week serves as your invitation to each of these organizations.
