Welcome to the University of South Carolina! I am excited to have you join our Gamecock family! This is an important transition in your life and can be exhilarating and overwhelming all at once. I remember when I was preparing for my first year at Carolina. I was ecstatic beyond belief but incredibly nervous all the same. It was a new place with new people, and I was used to the comfort of my hometown. However, all of my nerves quickly disappeared after moving in to USC. I learned a lot about the Gamecock community and the on-going events that welcome and introduce students to the university. USC holds Welcome Week each year and is filled with activities like Welcome Back Carolina, the Convocation ceremony, and the First Year Reading Experience just to name a few. Student life does not end at Welcome Week either. Throughout your time here at Carolina, you can take part in one of over 300 student organizations on campus or become part of the Gamecock spirit at an athletic event. Making the University of South Carolina your personal Carolina has never been easier. This is your place to learn, grow, and have fun.

In order to ease your transition, this website has been created. The information here is designed to aid your move-in process or your exploration around our beautiful campus and the city of Columbia. The University of South Carolina Visitor Center, Carolina community, and the city of Columbia are here to help as you move in to USC on Saturday, August 15th.
