University 101 and the National Resource Center for The First-Year ExperienceŽ and Students in Transition at the University of South Carolina form one functionally integrated academic unit and work together to build and sustain a vibrant campus-based and international educational community committed to the success of first-year college students and all students in transition.
To fulfill this mission, the Center:
- Organizes and hosts a series of conferences, institutes, and workshops
- Engages in and supports research
- Publishes a peer-reviewed journal, an electronic newsletter, a monograph series, guides, and books
- Administers a web site and electronic listservs
- Hosts visiting scholars
As an academic unit, the National Resource Center and University 101 report to the Division of Student Affairs and Academic Support. All activities sponsored by the National Resource Center impact and benefit the University 101 course.
