A series of modular templates is being developed to accommodate the variable content needs of our university website creators. Flexible in layout and based on 960 pixel grid, the template goal is to keep a consistent University of South Carolina identity on each page and allow the page content — not the layout — to make a site unique. Template options are available for image-savvy webmasters and for site creators without as much visual creativity or source material. The templates and the CMS are designed to work together to give the University of South Carolina a consistent, yet flexible way to enhance our Web presence.
OmniUpdate programmers and developers are converting our basic HTML templates into dynamic, CMS-fed templates for the initial launch and will provide the training that will allow us to create and modify templates in the future. Our contract with OmniUpdate allows a scalable number of site licenses, based on the number of users and needs.
