Numerous Arnold School members attended the American Public Health Association's 2017 Annual Meeting and Expo, presenting and participating in a variety of important public health issues. Held in Atlanta November 4-7, the event attracted more than 12,000 participants from around the world. This year's theme, Creating the Healthiest Nation: Climate Changes Health, underscored the general sessions, scientific sessions and presentations.

Other Awards and Activities
Keith Brazendale was the poster winner of the Delta Omega Honors Society's 21st Annual Poster Session.
Andrew Kaczynski concluded his term as Chair of the APHA Physical Activity Section, including presiding over the Section’s annual business meeting.
Heather Brandt chaired the Public Health Education and Health Promotion Section and organized/moderated the 3405.0 PHEHP Invited Session: Dissemination and Implementation Research Examining Implementation Strategies to Increase Cancer Prevention and Control. 
Linda Hazlett represented the Epidemiology Section on the APHA Governing Council. 
Linda Hazlett (Arnold School of Public Health Member-At-Large and Shaun Owens (Arnold School of Public Health Chapter President) presented the Abraham Lilienfeld Award to Dr. Noel Weiss at the Epidemiology Section Annual Awards.
Min Jee Lee won the American Public Health Association Public Health Education and Health Promotion Student Award.  
Oluwatosin Momodu Received the Pre-Conference Bingo Award at the Community Based Primary Health Care workshop.  
Cynthia Calef received the Student Award from the Public Health Education and Health Promotion Section.
