College of Pharmacy

Pre-Pharmacy Advising

Our USC College of Pharmacy advisers help you get the most out of the pre-pharmacy program and keep you on track with the prerequisite courses for the University of South Carolina's Pharm.D. program. As a Carolina pre-pharmacy student, you will formally meet with your College of Pharmacy adviser twice per year, but our advising team is always available to help.

Our USC College of Pharmacy pre-pharmacy advisers can help you expertly navigate the pre-pharmacy curriculum. You will meet with your adviser twice per year. Advisement for the spring semester begins in late September while advisement for the summer and fall semesters occurs in late February. You will be notified via campus email, Blackboard, Twitter and the pre-pharmacy Facebook page to sign up for an advising appointment.

To prepare for your appointment, you are expected to bring the following items:

  • completed student advisement form marking the courses you intend to take (for spring 2017 appointments, bring completed forms for summer 2017 and fall 2017; if you are planning to take summer courses outside of USC Columbia, bring a completed transient form)
  • updated checklist for potential Pharm.D. applicants, marking items that you've completed
  • questions about coursework, your resume and/or applying to pharmacy school

These documents are located in Blackboard, in the content section of the pre-pharmacy page under my organizations.
