Carolina Band Drumline

The Carolina Band Drumline is an elite and integral musical component of the Carolina Band that exemplifies the musicianship, spirit, and intensity of the Carolina Band. The Carolina Band Drumline includes USC students of all backgrounds and majors who desire to perform at the absolute highest level. The Carolina Band Drumline rehearses daily throughout the fall season in both sectional and full band settings, and performs both with the Carolina Band and as a solo entity. Members are selected through a highly competitive audition process in the spring before each football season. Members participate in all rehearsals and performances and receive a scholarship for their participation in the Carolina Band.

2016 Carolina Drumline Auditions

Saturday, April 16
9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Registration begins at 8:30 a.m.
Copenhaver Band Hall (324 Sumter St.)

The audition consists of two parts: the individual audition and the group audition. Prospective members begin the audition process by performing individually on their chosen primary instrument (snare, tenor, bass drum or cymbals). After this brief audition, all prospective members perform together as a drumline for the group audition. Performance on any and all chosen secondary instruments is encouraged during the group audition process.

Materials for both the solo and group audition can be found in the 2016-2017 Carolina Band Drumline Audition Packet.  Download the audition packet here (coming soon).

We encourage all prospective members to register for the audition. This allows us to contact you with information regarding the audition day and suggestions for preparing the audition material.

Registration for auditions will open online here on February 22, 2016.
