Activities and classes for beginning, intermediate and advanced reed players ensure a day full of great learning, listening and playing experiences.
School of Music faculty members host the event, which culminates with a double reed ensemble performance by all participants.
A double reed repair specialist gives free instrument adjustments, minor repairs, major repair consultation and sessions on oboe and bassoon maintenance. Double reed vendors offer instruments, music and accessories.
Students have the option of performing in a master class or attending as an observer. It promises to be a day of fun and learning for oboe and bassoon players of all ages and levels!

Registration begins at 8:30 a.m.; activities begin at 9:30 a.m.
The day’s activities include:
A recital by Professor Nagel (oboe) and Professor Harley (bassoon)
Master classes for oboists and bassoonists of all levels
A class on Alexander Technique for double reed players by Petrea Warneck, oboist and Certified Alexander Technician
Double reed ensemble concert of all participants
Double reed repairspecialist Bruce McCall will be available for free instrument adjustments, minor repairs and major repair consultation. A limited number of appointments are available.
$35 registration covers all activities and lunch. Parents may attend for free.
