Before joining the marketing and communications team at the Moore School, Slaughter was assistant vice president for Communications and Marketing at Claflin University. A skilled and qualified public relations professional with an extensive background in print journalism, Slaughter has experience in developing strategic alliances, planning and execution of comprehensive communications and crisis communications plans as well as in developing innovative public relations strategies. Before serving as the top marketing and communications officer for Claflin University, Slaughter was an award-winning news reporter for the Times and Democrat newspaper and media director for the Orangeburg County Sheriff's Office.
Slaughter earned her Master of Professional Studies in Strategic Public Relations from the Graduate School of Political Management at George Washington University and her B.A. in Mass Communications, print journalism concentration, and minor in French from Winthrop University.
