One of the most significant distinctions of the College of HRSM is the emphasis on real-life experiential learning through immersion programs such as internships. For many students, these extraordinary opportunities serve as a springboard for full-time positions upon graduation.
Our graduates have completed internships in marketing and management positions with organizations such as:
AEG Worldwide, Marriott International, Mercedes Benz Arena - Shanghai, China, Darden Restaurants, Starwood Hotels and Resorts, Feld Entertainment, Inc., Walt Disney World, Nordstrom, Gucci, Vogue, Coach, Atlanta Hawks, Beijing National Stadium, New York Red Bulls, Global Spectrum, and the United States Ski and Snowboard Association.
Existing International Programs
Dual Degree (D.D.) Programs: Our dynamic and flexible dual degree programs can be tailored to our international partners’ academic expectations. Based on academic degree articulations, we can design a variety of degree programs built on faculty expertise in both the home and host institutions. For example, a 120 credit-hour, 1+3 B.S. degree program would entail 90 University of South Carolina (USC) semester credit hours (three years at USC) plus 30 host partner institution credit hours (one year). A 2+2 B.S. degree program (60 USC credits and 60 credits at the host partner institution) is possible through an MOU (memorandum of understanding) followed by an articulation agreement. The following are examples of existing dual degree programs with our international partners:
- 1+3 B.S. degree program with our partners in China and Taiwan
- 1+1 Master of International Hospitality and Tourism Management (MIHTM) program (first year at home institution followed by the second year at the College of HRSM) with our partners in China and Taiwan
- 2+2 D.D. Ph.D. program with our partner in Taiwan
- 1+3 joint Ph.D. program with our partner in China
Requirements for a B.S. degree: 120 credit hours (up to 60 credits can be transferred), plus internships, TOEFL 77, iB IELTS 6.5
Requirements for a Master’s degree: 36 credit hours (12 credits can be transferred), minimum GPA 3.0, GMAT 500 or GRE 300, TOEFL 100 or iB IELTS 6.5
