Leading the Way for Educators
The USC College of Engineering and Computing is the Project Lead the Way (PLTW) affiliate for South Carolina - training hundreds of educators from across the country to better teach engineering and computing courses to middle and high school students. Through world-class K-12 curriculum, high-quality teacher professional development and outstanding partnerships, PLTW is helping teachers develop the skills that allow them to prepare their students to succeed in the global economy.
Leading the Way for Students
PLTW engages students in activities, projects, and problem-based learning, through hands-on classroom experiences. In addition to the benefits of enhanced classroom experiences, high school students have the opportunity to take PLTW courses and apply to have some of those courses count toward college credit.
Leading the Way for Schools
PLTW has established a strong national support system for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) studies through relationships with schools and universities, like USC, across the country. The South Carolina PLTW site provides more information on partnerships and certification programs.
