Areas of Expertise

Nicole Skeen joined the College of Education in June 2017 as the college’s first University Induction Coordinator. Skeen is a South Carolina educator and instructional coach with a passion for growing teachers through mentoring and support in the clinical application of pedagogical theory and research. She will oversee the creation and implementation of the university’s new Carolina Teacher Induction Program (CarolinaTIP). The program is designed to facilitate the continued professional growth of USC graduates by providing three additional years of support to new teachers beyond their degree. In creating a bridge between the university and the classroom, CarolinaTIP is aimed at increasing teacher retention, teacher efficacy, and student success in the classroom.
