South Carolina Center for Children's Books and Literacy

The South Carolina Center for Children's Books and Literacy was established as a resource center for the state by the South Carolina Commission on Higher Education in 1992 to support teaching, learning and research related to children's and young-adult literature and materials. We provide information, education, and support services for faculty and students in teacher education and library science, classroom teachers, librarians, and parents statewide.

The Center is the official book examination and preview center for the state. We maintain a current collection of books, a small retrospective collection of award-winning books, and one special collection — the Linda Lucas Walling Collection For and About Children with Disabilities.
