Beyond the Classroom

You can't study humans, society, and culture without getting out of the classroom from time to time. As an anthropology student, you'll find rich opportunities for field research, study abroad opportunities, and clubs and organizations.

Photo: Doctoral student, Amber Teresa Domingue, studied linguistic interactions that occurred in a Dominican hair salon within a predominantly Black neighborhood in Atlanta, Georgia during the summer of 2018 which was documented in her Master’s Thesis. This photo, featured in her thesis, was taken about a block from the salon by Domingue and depicts a colorful mural (by Fabian @occassionalsuperstar) of Martin Luther King Jr. on his back with his hand reached out, the words TAKU below the activist, and #RagCulture on his feet.
