Employee Benefits Reminder for all USC Faculty and Staff
In these uncertain times of rising stress and shrinking wallets, the Faculty Welfare Committee would like to remind employees about USC’s Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
This program offers help with a range of problems including child-rearing concerns, elder care issues, alcohol and drug related problems, abuse issues, marital difficulties, depression, anxiety, stress, financial problems, and legal issues. EAP services are available to eligible faculty and staff and their family members. A general overview of EAP services can be found on the Human Resources website: http://hr.sc.edu/relations/eap.html.
You may call LifeServices EAP 24 hours a day [1-800-822-4847], or visit the LifeServices EAP website at http://www.lifeserviceseap.com. The first four visits per issue are paid for by the University.
Human Resources also provides free seminars periodically on topics like stress reduction, financial planning, and workplace issues. A calendar of events can be viewed at http://hr.sc.edu/profdevp/calendar.html.
A complete list of professional development courses can be found at http://hr.sc.edu/profdevp/subject.html, and a complete list of employee enrichment courses can be found at http://hr.sc.edu/profdevp/classes/enrich.html
Finally, you may not know that as part of the EAP, you have access to a wide range of online legal and financial resources. Visit this website http://www.clcmembers.com/login, using lseap as the user name and legal as the password.
If you have any questions or need additional information, please feel free to call Jeff Cargile, Director of Human Resource Programs and Services, or Ken Titus, Employee Relations Manager, at 777-7550.
