Room 105 serves as a classroom that can hold up to forty students comfortably. A podium is located at the front of the classroom that houses a touch panel for easy control of the classroom's audio, video, and projector settings. This classroom can be used as a lecture hall with powerpoint, DVD and other video/audio functionality, as well as perform simulation demonstrations to the class as a whole. It can also be reserved to operate for a small group simulation experience.
The classroom also houses eight beds with working headboards. Six of the beds have low fidelity manikins that can be used in training assesment skills like catheterization, tracheoctomy cleaning, and oxygen therapy. One bed is occupied by Vitalsim, a manikin that can be used to train all of the elements that our low fidelty manikins offer, but also include vital signs as well as lung, heart, and bowel sounds. The last bed is occupied by SimMan. Our highest fidelty manikin that can be programmed by the lab staff to perform a variety of simulation experiences that are common in the nursing field. Cameras in the classroom can be maneuverd to either show the instructor or focus on the manikin during a simulation demonstration. |
