An authority on the impact of political instability on business will address students, faculty and staff of the University of South Carolina Thursday, Sept. 29.
Dr. Preston Keat, a managing director of UBS in New York, will speak at 3:30 p.m. in the Board Room located on the eighth floor of the Darla Moore School of Business. The event is free and open to the public.
Keat’s talk, titled “Staying Ahead of the Crisis: The Integration of Political Analysis into Finance,” will focus on new approaches to integrating political and institutional analysis into different types of international financial risk models and investment strategies.
Keat is expected to draw from his recent book, “The Fat Tail: The Power of Political Knowledge in an Uncertain World.” Keat is an adjunct assistant professor in the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University. Before joining UBS, he was the director of research at the Eurasia Group, a consulting firm known for its work in political risk analysis.
The seminar is organized by the Moore School’s Sonoco International Business Department. For more information, call 803-777-4400 or send an email to email@example.com
