H1N1 Vaccine Clinic set for Nov. 3

 

The University of South Carolina Student Health Services has just received a new shipment of both the injectable and the live, attenuated intranasal H1N1 vaccine and will conduct a vaccine clinic from 1 to 4 p.m. Nov. 3 at Davis Field next to the Russell House.

In accordance with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines, the vaccine will be made available to faculty, staff, and students who:

--Are in the second or third trimester of pregnancy
--Are healthy and from 2 to 24 years of age
--Are from 2 to 24 years of age and have a chronic medical condition or a weakened immune system
--Are from 25 through 49 years of age AND live with or care for infants younger than 6 months of age
--Are from 25 through 49 years of age AND are healthcare or emergency medical care personnel.

There is no charge for the vaccine. You must present your University ID card to receive the vaccine.

Please note that Student Health Services' current supply of the H1N1 flu vaccine is limited. This clinic is one of many Student Health Services will offer as additional vaccine is made available.
