Healthy Carolina has received funding from Eat Smart Move More South Carolina to develop and implement a Lactation Support Program at the University of South Carolina. The goal of the Lactation Support Program is to establish lactation support and management services at the university.
The program is open to all faculty, staff and students at the university and consists of:
- Breastfeeding classes with a certified Lactation Consultant
- Lunch N’ Learns regarding pumping and proper nutrition
- Resources to facilitate pumping after returning to work
- Nursing Mothers Lounges on Campus
