College of Information and Communication Carolina Fund

When you give to the Carolina Fund you're supporting the areas of greatest need for two important schools—Journalism and Mass Communications and Library and Information Science.

Student and Faculty Travel

Program promotion is critical to program rankings and successful recruitment of students. Funding for faculty travel is important to promote our program to various publics, including academics, prospective students, and industry professionals.

Journalism School Building

Outfitting the new School of Journalism and Mass Communications building is a major priority. The 55,000 square-foot state-of-the-art building has flexible work and study spaces that will create an innovative approach to journalism education. The building will be a major recruitment tool for faculty and students.

Literacy

When the USC’s School of Library and Information Science launched Children, Libraries and Literacy in 2005, it crafted a statewide initiative to reduce illiteracy in South Carolina by taking a fresh and tactically new approach. Our ultimate goal is to reduce the cycle of illiteracy among South Carolina’s children and adults, particularly in underserved or disadvantaged communities.

CMCIS Alumni Society Scholarship

The Alumni Society Scholarship provides support for undergraduate scholarships in the School of Journalism and Mass Communications and the School of Library and Information Science. The Alumni Society is seeking to enhance alumni contributions to the scholarship in order to expand its student reach.

Study Abroad Fund

Study abroad offers students an amazing opportunity to study at a foreign university during a semester, year or summer abroad. This program promotes professional connections outside of South Carolina, hones skills in unfamiliar environments, and explores international perspectives.

College of Information and Communications Dean's Circle Fund

Donations to the Dean’s Circle Fund helps make a Carolina education affordable by promoting research that can change lives, giving our students opportunities that help them become leaders and helping our school make a positive impact on our state, nation and world.
