The First Carolina Remembrance Concert will take place at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 23 in the Five Points fountain area.
The concert will memorialize the victims lost in the Ocean Isle Fire on Oct. 28, 2007. The event will include a memorial slideshow, speakers--including University President Harris Pastides--and live performances by musical groups Villanova and Danger Muffin.
The concert was created to benefit the Carolina Remembrance
Fund, which awards scholarships in honor of the seven victims lost. The free concert is open to students, faculty, staff and members of the community in conjunction with the Five Points Association's Five After FIve concert series.
Shuttles will run to the memorial concert from campus. The shuttles will pick up at the Russell House and the Greek Village from 5-9 p.m. Students are strongly encouraged to ride the shuttle.

"We Hail Thee Carolina"
We hail thee, Carolina, and sing thy high praise
With loyal devotion, remembering the days
When proudly we sought thee, thy children to be:
Here's a health, Carolina, forever to thee!
